Course Title: Carving Tool / Knife Sharpening

Course Description:

• Skills and knowledge to be gained. Each participant will see a demonstration of the current methods used to sharpen carving tools. In addition, the care and use of the shop’s Tormek will be discussed.

· Machines and tools to be used. Tool sharpening devices including the Tormek water-cooled grinding machine.

· Learning process/procedure. Demonstration

· Prerequisite skills; what level of competency/expertise is required for safe, successful participation. Interest in carving.

• Project/product to be made. None

· Duration of course. 4 Hours

· Cost of materials beyond $10 fee. None
