with this OPTIONAL 3 day tour…………..

Grand Overland: Cambodia's Angkor Wat &
                      Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City
(Double Accomodations)

Your destination is Cambodia’s famed Angkor Wat, one of the great wonders of the world. Spend a day exploring Ho Chi Minh City – the former Saigon – before rejoining the ship.

DAY ONE – SINGAPORE:   After disembarking your ship in Singapore, travel your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY TWO - SINGAPORE / SIEMREAP/ ANGKOR WAT: Following an early breakfast at your hotel, travel to the airport for your flight to Siemreap. After arrival, begin with a tour of the Angkor Wat temple complex. Enjoy lunch at the Angkor Café Restaurant.

WHAT YOU VISIT: Angkor Wat – After breakfast, spend two hours exploring the great Angkor Wat itself. The walls of the massive, fortified temple are engraved with scenes from Khmer history. The wat is defended by a vast moat – the causeway crossing the moat is over 500 feet long. This vast temple complex, the finest surviving example of Kmer art and architecture, remained undiscovered until the late 19th century.

Temple Complex – Your tour takes in what is known as the small circuit, visiting a number of major and minor temples. These include the South Gate at Angkor Thom, a self-contained, 10-square-mile city built by Jayavarman VII. At the heart of Angkor Thom stands the Bayon temple with its 54 towers carved with images of Avalokitesharva. You also see The Terrace of the Leper King, The Terrace of the 12 Elephants, the Baphoun, and the Royal Palace.

LUNCH: A buffet lunch with Asian and Western dishes is served at the Angkor Café Restaurant.

DINNER & ACCOMMODATIONS: You will have the option of taking in spectacular views of the sunset from the Bayon Temple before returning to your hotel in Siemreap. Enjoy dinner accompanied by a performance of Apsara dances at your hotel before retiring for a well deserved rest.

DAY THREE – SEIMREAP / HO CHI MINH CITY: Begin your day with a tour of the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City located on the Mekong River. After your day of touring, travel to Phu My to rejoin your ship.

WHAT YOU VISIT: National History Museum - Its collection traces the cultural history of Vietnam with exhibits that feature stone and bronze artifacts, Champa art, ceramics and traditional costumes. The National Museum Theater offers a performance of water puppets, a unique Vietnamese art form.

Sea Goddess Temple - Located in the city’s Chinatown, the temple is home to the Sea Goddess who travels on the clouds rescuing seafarers from storms and shipwrecks.

LUNCH: A buffet lunch with Vietnamese and Western dishes is served in a hotel in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

REFRESHMENTS: Enjoy a drink along with views of the City Hall and central area of Ho Chi Minh City from the rooftop terrace of the historic Rex Hotel; the site of the U.S. military’s weekly updates on progress in the war in Vietnam also known as the infamous "Friday Night Follies."

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY: Your drive through Ho Chi Minh City passes the Rex Hotel, Reunification Hall, the Botanical and Zoological Gardens, Notre Dame Cathedral, the French Colonial Post Office, and Ho Chi Minh Park. The drive to the Sea Goddess Temple travels through Chinatown and the vast Binh Tay Market. After your day in Ho Chi Minh, a two hour drive to Phu My follows the Saigon River passing through a landscape of small villages, rice paddies, and oil and rubber trees.
